Training for the New Alpinism allowed me to create my own training program for larger objectives in the Sierra while also instilling a training regimen I have been using for nearly two years. You can apply any section of any chapter and tailor it to fit your own personal needs regardless of your ability and overall goals whether they are aimed at high altitude mountaineering, to alpine climbing, to smaller objectives such as in the Sierra. I recently applied the book to achieve the North Ridge of Lone Pine Peak, 5.6 Grade III, and the East Ridge of Mt. Russell.
